CAPE AND ISLANDS LEGISLATORS LAUDED AS FRIENDS TO MASSACHUSETTS TOURISM

A group of Cape and Islands state and federal legislators were honored today for their strong support of the Massachusetts hospitality and tourism industry. State Representatives Sarah Peake (D-Provincetown), Timothy Madden (D-Nantucket) and Randy Hunt (R-East Sandwich), State Senators Therese Murray (D-Plymouth) and Daniel Wolf (D-Hyannis), US Representative William Keating (D-MA) and US Senators Scott Brown (R-MA) and John Kerry (D-MA) were commended at a luncheon hosted by the Massachusetts Lodging Association.
NLRB Postpones Employee Rights Poster Deadline Delayed, Congressional Bill Introduced

Following lawsuits filed by AH&LA through the Coalition for Democratic Workplace and several other organizations, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has postponed the Notification of Employee Rights requirement until January 31, 2012, from the initial date of November 14, 2011.

Congress has just passed legislation that includes many provisions which may benefit hoteliers. H.R.5297, the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act of 2010, includes measures intended to stimulate investment and increase the availability of credit.
