MLA Government Affairs Team Continues Fight for H-2B Relief
June 23, 2008
The MLA is continuing its fight for H-2B relief, and is seeing some positive gains. After a relief provision was stripped out of a Senate appropriations bill, the MLA and its AH&LA partners looked back to the House, which is still mulling legislation. Several key House members who had previously staunchly refused to allow movement on H-2B pending comprehensive immigration reform two weeks ago requested that Speaker Nancy Pelosi help expedite the bill’s movement. The MLA has sent letters of support to the Massachusetts Congressional delegation, asking them to advocate to the Speaker on the industry’s behalf.
