The Massachusetts Lodging Association Education Foundation (MLAEF) provides a wide variety of educational resources and programming to develop a qualified hospitality workforce. Included in this state-wide effort is the course work (Educational Institute national curriculum) and internship programs for both high school students and college students.
MLAEF provides workforce development and education to the most underrepresented populations in the Commonwealth. A qualified, educated workforce is trained for the Massachusetts lodging industry through career development programs for high school students and new workers, advanced training opportunities for current employees and an offering of English for Speakers of Other Languages programs specific to the lodging industry. In addition, career ladder information and education is available. The MLA works with the lodging industry to determine employment needs and develop programs to address those needs. Partnerships include workforce development initiatives and community based organization in order to understand and access the hardest to reach populations.
Program Goals:
Create and train a new workforce for the lodging industry
Identify, train and employ the most underrepresented populations
Increase opportunities for career advancement and retention for new and incumbent workers
Facilitate communication and information between the industry and potential employees for employment purposes
